The Health Division of CNN News reported that “European Union foreign ministers on Tuesday [October 18, 2005] declared the spread of bird flu from Asia into Europe a ‘global threat’ requiring international action.”

“In Bulgaria, which neighbors Romania and Turkey, newspapers have spoken of ‘panic’ and ‘hysteria.’ Sofia has urged calm but is preparing a national crisis headquarters and stepping up border controls and surveillance of poultry farms and wetlands near its Danube River boundary — seen as a major conduit for migrating birds,” and “The southernmost German state of Bavaria — which lies along the flight path of migrating birds — banned poultry sales Tuesday in an effort to avoid the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu,” reported CNN News.

A report by The Washington Times said “The avian flu virus is a pathogen invisible to the human eye which poses an immense potential threat to American civilization.” Bill Frist from the Times also reported that “In the past several months, it has become clear to me that we remain dangerously unprepared to defend ourselves against it. Right now, our national stockpiles of anti-viral drugs sit at dangerously low levels — about 2 percent of what we would need in a serious outbreak — and no existing vaccine can provide perfect protection against the avian flu virus.”

Many years ago Ramtha pointed out the real danger of such a threat and predicted its coming:

“How do we march against viruses and bacteria that have evolved much faster than you?  You know, there have been very many predictions about a third world war and that is heavy with everyone.  But I want to tell you that will not happen in armies.  There is no army superior enough to the West.  There isn’t.”

“The next war will be a war of viruses and plagues because that is the only army that has outwitted guns and lasers.  And that is the army that is going to lay waste to the world.  That is the true Armageddon on the plain of Sharon.  That is the true Babylon burning.  And the sailors watch from the sea and weep a thousand tears.”

“There are viruses that are intelligent that can change so fast.  You don’t change but they do. They are the host that is going to feed upon what is not going to change.  And they are going to destroy you.”

“The virus — known as H5N1 — changes very quickly. Influenza viruses like avian flu have caused the greatest pandemics in world history. They mutate continually, making it almost impossible to wipe them out entirely. Even today in the United States, the flu kills over 30,000 people each year. But past epidemics have been much worse. Between 1918 and 1919, the Spanish Flu killed 40 million people around the world. Most were children and young adults. Given the world has nearly four times more people and far more efficient means of travel, another pandemic could spread more quickly and kill more people than before. If it were to become transmissible between humans, avian flu might kill 160 million to 200 million people,” reported The Washington Times News.
